Eligibility & Criteria for B.Ed. Admission under WBUTTEPA
Candidates should be Graduates in a school subject from a recognized university.
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (General) / or in the Master's Degree in School subjects are eligible to apply.
Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/B. Tech. in the row of Honors Degree. M.E. / M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master’s Degree row.
Honors Graduates in school subject should enter the Honors marks only in the row of Bachelor's degree(Honors).
In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects should be entered in the row of Bachelor's degree (General).
For candidates with less than 50% marks in the honors degree, the total marks of pass and Honors subjects will be considered. If it becomes 50% or more, that score will be entered in Graduation (General) row.
For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on scoring.
Eligibility & Criteria for D.El.Ed. Admission under WBBPE
Should pass the H.S(+2) Examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/Council/University with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. there is,however , a relaxation of 5% marks for the applicants belonging to SC/ST.OBC-A/OBC-B/PH/Ex-Serviceman categories. Where there is no aggregate marks,50%/45% of the total of the best five scores excluding EVS for eligibility will be counted.
Should not be above 35 years of age (40 years of age for SC/ST.OBC-A/OBC-B/PH) as on 01.07.2017.Note 1: This upper age is not applicable for the in- service teachers,appointed before 03.09.2001. Note 2: Ex-Serviceman candidate shall get the benefit of age relaxation as per rule.
Must have studied the language at the Higer Secondary level as a compulsory subject for which medium of instruction he/she will be applying for admission . The Second language must be English.
Calculation of merit : the name of the Examination should be Higher Secondary or as mentioned in the Mark-sheet of other recognized Boards or councils. The total marks obtained should be aggregate of the best five including First or Second Language but excluding EVS.
